It's Friday morning in Auburn, our last day at Linda and Jim's.
Yesterday was another amazing day. A leisurely morning which included a tasty vegetable omelet, filled with FRESH veggies and of course, we would not think of eating anything but 'range free' eggs.
We then packed a lunch to take to the Folsom (yes, as in 'prison') Dam, and beautiful Natomus Lake. Mike took a really long 10 mile run. Linda and I walked a couple of miles. Mike made the turn at the lake and met up with us, again. He describes the lake as breath taking; families swimming, kayaking and enjoying the beautiful day.The scenery was gorgeous as we walked/ran along the American River on one side and beautiful lush bushes, trees and even saw a wild turkey and her two chicks on the other side!
We sat on the side of the trail and had our delicous, healthy lunch, which was very necessary as Linda and I planned a weigh-in at Weight Watcher's this morning.
Back home Linda fixed a dish called Paella, which originated in Spain. It contains three types of fish, some fresh garden vegetables and a scrumpcious sauce, it went so well with the homemade whole wheat bread.
We are headed to Old Town and a scenic place to have our lunch, which we are packing.
Enjoying wonderful friends and a new appreciation of all that God has created!
