Continuation of trip from Chicago to Augusta

Well, it's about 8:10AM...we didn't make the 2nd flight so we are waiting for the next one which is scheduled for an 11:35am depature...'they' say it looks hopeful!

Our drive through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennesee and on to Dar and Jimbo's in Cumming, GA was really beautiful. Seemed as if everything was going as scheduled breakfast, gas, bathroom, gas, dinner, bathroom, gas-just doesn't seem like that should have taken 17 hours! We really don't know WHAT HAPPENED?. Only one u-turn and as it would turn-out, it wasn't necessary, I had it right! That was maybe a 10 minute interruption in our schedule!! Still doesn't add up!!
1st picture is Indianapolis, then the Cracker Barrel Restaurant where Mike obtained a new appreciation for bisquits and gravy, next is Tennesse, Kentucky and finally, beautiful Georgia!

Arrived at Dar's around 1:15AM...she had waited up for us (Graham tried to stay awake, but lasted only until about 11:30) Dar suggested maybe we should play cards since we were all awake! We didn't...we were in bed by 1:44AM. We are all still trying to catch up on our sleep!

Tommy was waiting for us outside and after Mike got a really quick tour of our new house, the unloading began. Once all of our 'stuff' (that's putting it midly) was out of the truck and on the sidewalk and the lawn, I became pretty discouraged...what would we do with all of this stuff? I was tired and emotional (poor Mike) and cried as I looked at our life's possessions, on the sidewalk, in the hot sun and black cloulds threatening a down pour!! I soon realized there was no time for a 'pity party' and we all worked hard getting everything into the garage!
At a rest stop in Tennesse, Mike and I were walking in an attempt to stretch our legs (this counts as a bathroom stop and really did not add 5 hours to the drive!!) As we walked, Mike said, "We are unemployed and on vacation...this feels good; we should do this every 5 years!" We cracked-up!!!
The drive through Louisville was especially difficult as Mike was having a hard time not stopping and staying for the big race, I'm so grateful we kept going!
We try to find purpose in our life and in wondering what purpose could possibly be served in spending 5 hours in the Augusta airport this morning, I find myself smiling as it has given me time to catch up on our travel blog; that's purpose, right?
Hopefully, our next post will be from Charlotte.
